Tropical Horseback Riding

Overview

We will travel to a small town called Atirro, which is fifteen minutes from Turrialba. A guide will give a description of what travelers must do during the tour and give a safety talk on the rules and procedures for the horseback riding tour.

During the two-hour horseback ride, travelers will pass sugar cane and coffee plantations and a secondary forest. In the jungle, the guide will explain the development of secondary forests and native plants. They will be able to observe a great variety of birds, such as: orioles, tanagers, and black turkeys, and other animals such as: sloths and monkeys. In addition, the horseback ride will take you through areas with impressive views of natural beauty. They will also enjoy a break at a viewpoint, offering a breathtaking view of the entire Turrialba valley and the surrounding mountains.

The tour lasts approximately 2:00 hours; no previous experience in horse riding is needed, and clients must bring extra clothes to change.

  • Minimum age: children over 8 years old.
  • Departure: AM.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Includes: Transportation, guide, and equipment.
  • Recommendations: Bring a T-shirt, long pants, a rain jacket or poncho, walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Change of clothes.
