OVERVIEW

Arenal Volcano (2 days / 1 night)

Volcán Arenal

Located in the northern part of the country, the impressive Arenal Volcano is famous for its shape, the natural surroundings, adventure activities and the hot springs. The journey starts until we reach this wonder of nature, but you inevitably have to make a stop in the famous town of Sarchí, where you will find amazing arts & crafts from local artisans.

On this trip you will pass through various plantations of agricultural products, ornamental plants and livestock, until you reach La Fortuna for lunch in a cozy restaurant right in front of the volcano. Later enjoy one of the best places of hot springs in the area. Finally, enjoy a dinner and the stay at your hotel in Arenal. You’ll have the next morning free to enjoy the hotel and its facilities. Return in the afternoon to San José.

Tortuguero (3 days / 2 nights)

Tortuguero

Tortuguero is located on the northeast Caribbean coast, in the lowest and most humid zone of the country. A narrow strip of beach separates it from the Atlantic Ocean and its geographical position has protected it from the invasion of civilization. All along these gentle rivers and the canals of Tortuguero, you will be able to watch monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caimans, turtles and countless colorful tropical birds. As its name indicates, the beaches of Tortuguero are the main spawning site of the Western Caribbean Sea Turtle (from July to October). Our lodging option is Pachira Lodge, a rustic and comfortable lodge surrounded by lush tropical gardens and excellent homemade food.

Manuel Antonio

The scenic Manuel Antonio National Park offers the perfect combination of the warm waters of the Pacific and the rainforest that grows right on the shores of white sand beaches. The nature trails will take you along the beach and on a rocky and wooded promontory.

This is probably one of the places where it is easier to observe wildlife, particularly sloths, coatimundis, agoutis, white-faced monkeys and the little squirrel monkey. There is no development within the park, although along the 7 kilometers (4 miles) before the park, there are dozens of small hotels surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens.
