Now Costa Rica is a flight away from Chicago!

Starting November 2nd, 2021, American Airlines will offer the following new routes to Costa Rica: The service from Chicago, Illinois (ORD) to Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose will be three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Meanwhile, to the Daniel Oduber International Airport terminal in Liberia, Guanacaste, the service will be once a week, on Saturdays. Chicago is of great importance as a potential source of tourists to Costa Rica, according to the study “Americans as International Travelers” on the best prospects residing in the United States, carried out prior to the pandemic by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT). Chicago placed in fourth place in the ranking of the 10 US cities that concentrate the largest number of potential tourists with a high interest in traveling to Costa Rica, only below New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. American will compete with United Airlines, which also flies to Costa Rica from O’Hare Airport in Chicago. Source: Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT)
