SOME EXTRA TIPS
Laguna Lodge is an eco-tourist hotel located in Tortuguero, in the northern part of Costa Rica. Large rivers, lakes and wetlands on one side, the Caribbean Sea on the other, this is the most important nesting site for the green sea turtle. The season starts by mid-July and ends by October.
The hotel is built on a strip of land two hundred feet wide, full of trees and exotic plants that attract a great number of birds and butterflies.
The rooms are of simple design in amenability with nature, with all basic comforts, including ceiling fan, reading lamps and wooden benches outside to sit and admire the gardens.
The restaurant is in front of the Tortuguero lagoon, providing picturesque views of the forests and boats with local people passing by. Meals are served buffet style with a variety of fresh tropical fruits and vegetables.
Packages of one, two or three days include transportation, meals, naturalist guides, and tours to the astounding Tortuguero National Park canals and the village among others, ensure a very pleasant stay.
