Straddling the Continental Divide, Monteverde Cloud Forest area offers one of the most interesting places to visit in Costa Rica. In Monteverde are found more than 100 species of mammals, over 400 species of birds including 30 kinds of hummingbirds, thousands of insect species and 2500 species of plants. The area is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the Tropics.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1:

San Jose – Monteverde

Pick up in your hotel lobby to get to Monteverde by land. In the afternoon you will be joining the Sky tram & Sky trek adventure excursion, enjoy a short ride in the tram and then, ride downhill on the zip lines through the top of the rainforests canopy.

Day 2:

Walk and explore


Early morning you will be transferred to the famous Monteverde Biological Reserve, where you will join one of the guided walks daily organized by the reserve.  Explore the reserve trails and learn about the flora and fauna of the tropics cloud forest.  Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the hotels facilities or taking optional tours (at an additional cost)

Day 3:

Monteverde – San Jose

Pick up in your hotel lobby to get back to San Jose by land. End of services or select another Horizontes short escape...
