Daily Itinerary         

Day 1: San Jose – Turrialba

Pick up in your hotel lobby to get to Turrialba by land. In the afternoon you will spend your time exploring the hotel surroundings.

Day 2: Water Splash

After an early breakfast, this morning you will be joining a white water rafting trip on the Pejibaye River.  This class II – III River offers moderate rapids, along the rapids you will pass through rainforest and pasture lands.  There will be opportunity to do some bird watching and swim on the calm pools.  Afternoon at leisure to relax or enjoy an optional tour (at an additional cost)

Day 3: Archeology lesson

A guided visit to Guayabo National Monument, which was ingeniously engineered by a Pre-Columbian civilization between 1000 B.C. and 1400 A.D., is Costa Rica’s most important archaeological site.  Veiled in the shadow of the Turrialba Volcano this national park affords excellent bird watching opportunities amid rain-forested surroundings.


Early afternoon pick up in your hotel lobby to get back to San Jose by land. End of services or select another Horizontes short escape...
