Caribbean Wonders

The Costa Rican Caribbean has a special magic, lush vegetation, wildlife everywhere and a unique culture. This trip will take you to experience some of these wonders and with the local cuisine will make you live a moment that will last forever.

Day 1:

Welcome to Costa Rica!

Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria’s International Airport (SJO), greeting and transfer to your hotel in San José.  Tonight you will stay at Rincón del Valle Hotel.

Overnight at Rincón del Valle Hotel.  Meals: not included.

Day 2:

San Jose - Tortuguero

Early transfer from San José to the Caribbean lowlands. The driving will take 4 hours approximately with a stop en route for a hearty breakfast.  Arrival to Caño Blanco where you will board the boat that will take you to  Tortuguero.  Arrival to the lodge, your home for the next two days.  In the afternoon visit to Tortuguero village, you will have the chance to appreciate the culture and life style of this community.  Remain of the afternoon at leisure.

Overnight at Pachira Lodge. Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

Note: Tortuguero´s beaches are the most important nesting site in the western half of the Caribbean for Green Sea Turtle (July to August).  Not too surprising, then, that the name Tortuguero is derived from the Spanish word for turtle. An optional tour is offered to see the turtles nesting (only during the nesting season)

Day 3:

Exploring the canals

Today you will enjoy the activities organized by the lodge.  Along the day you will have opportunity to explore the calm, forest-lined rivers and man-made channels by small boat. Then enjoy a walk to the lodge’s trail system or another location.   It is common to see monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caiman, turtles and an abundance of colorful tropical birds.

Day 4:

Tortuguero - South Caribbean

After breakfast, take the boat to Caño Blanco and the bus that will transfer you to the town of Siquirres, where you will be connecting with the shuttle service to Puerto Viejo de Limon, your next destination. After the arrival free time to relax and take a walk at the beach near by.

Overnight at Azania Bungalows.  Meals: breakfast included.

Day 5:

South Caribbean

Full day to enjoy the beach and the attractions offered in the area (at an additional cost).

Day 6:

South Caribbean - San José

This morning, after breakfast, you will be taking a shuttle services to return to the Central Valley.  After the arrival remain of the day at leisure.

Overnight at Rincón del Valle Hotel. Meals: breakfast included.

Day 7:

San Jose - Home

Today you will be transferred to Juan Santamaria  International Airport on time to take the flight back home.

  • Transportation:
    Transportation airport-hotel-airport for international flights.
    Land and  aquatic transportation as per Tortuguero package description.
    Shuttle service from Siquirres to Puerto Viejo, Limon.
    Shuttle service from Puerto Viejo to San Jose.
  • Lodging:
    2 Nights at Rincón del Valle Hotel in Standard room.
    2 Nights at Pachira Lodge (2 nights-3 days package).
    2 Nights at Azania Bungalows in Standard room.

    One visit to Tortuguero Village.
