Farmers Market

Farmers MarketCosta Rica’s farmers markets are a tradition in most towns in the Central Valley, with the largest in San Jose’s Cementario district. They are great places to glimpse local culture and take colorful photographs of the Tropical fruits and vegetables, as well as the market itself. Stroll past farmers and vendors, who set up small temporary stands along a stretch of the town, usually along the town square. These markets provided a way for farmers to sell direct to consumers and offer the freshest ripe produce to the marketplace. Farmers markets start at dawn and usually end by 11 a.m.
