Partnerships and Awards

Horizontes has a long history of working closely with conservation- related not-for-profit organizations through outreach, collaboration and support. Currently, we have partnered with the New-York based Rainforest Alliance in an awareness campaign directed at our affiliated hotels and outfitters. We are motivating their participation in workshops run by the Rainforest Alliance where participants learn the nuts and bolts of best practices including methods for recycling, reducing waste and ensuring that local communities benefit from tourist dollars.

We are proud to have received the following awards:

  • 2006 Corporate Green Globe, Rainforest Alliance
  • 2005 Archie Carr Tour Operator Award, CANATUR
  • 2005 Best Tour Operator, Latin Trade Magazine
  • 2004 Best Sustainable Tourism website, GTZ Germany
