Horizontes Earns Highest 5-Leaf Certification for Sustainable Practices

 
Horizontes Nature Tours this week became the first tour company in Costa Rica to be awarded the highest possible 5-leaf rating with Costa Rica’s official Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST), which measures service management and the quality of client interaction, as well as impact on our country’s natural, cultural and social resources.

 

The CST has inspected and evaluated 52 hotels in Costa Rica, and recently expanded its reach to tour operators with the objective of turning the concept of sustainability into a concrete goal for Costa Rica’s tourism industry.

Horizontes joins leading luxury hotels Lapa Rios and Finca Rosa Blanca as the only enterprises in the country to carry the 5-leaf seal.

This certification comes in the same year Horizontes was honored with a Corporate Green Globe award by the New York-based Rainforest Alliance for its work in support of best management practices for sustainable tourism, as well as its conservation efforts throughout 22 years in the industry.
