Hike, Bike, Raft, Horseback Ride and Canopy Tour through a Tropical Paradise

Nowhere else in the world can you experience such a variety of spectacular landscapes and activities in one trip than on our multi-sport adventure to Costa Rica. Explore wildlife-rich cloud forests in Monteverde, experience cowboy culture in Guanacaste and feel the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean as you kayak and snorkel at a remote beach. Warm up in mineral-rich mud baths and hot springs, and dry off in the arid savannahs of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. This 9-day adventure also includes rafting the Pacuare's exciting whitewater and mountain biking along a remote river canyon. Evenings feature social time amid jungle hideaways.

Days 1-2 San Jose-Pacuare River

After a city tour of San Jose, we shuttle to the lush lowlands to brave the rapid-filled waters of the world-class Pacuare River. Adventuresome beginners and experienced rafters alike will be awed within the magnificent canyons found on this Class III-IV raft trip.

Days 3-4 Monteverde

Designed around five magnificent waterfalls, we hike Waterfall Gardens, boasting the largest butterfly observatory in the world. Then enjoy a thrilling zipline canopy tour and Monteverde's "eternal spring" climate among resplendent quetzals, abundant orchids and gorgeous cloud forest.

Days 5-6 Guanacaste-Rincon de la Vieja

We travel to Guanacaste, home of sabanero culture, for a stay at a working cattle ranch. Here we mountain bike some singletrack to waterfalls and pristine mountain pools. Hike to Rincon de la Vieja National Park's volcanic cauldrons and ride horses to a soak in the soothing mud baths. The evenings are yours to enjoy the ranch's cuisine and gaze upon the star-filled night sky.

Days 7-9 Playa Pan de Azucar-San Jose

The Pacific is our setting for a day of excellent sea kayaking, snorkeling and lounging about at the pool at our beach resort. After a final lazy morning at the beach, we depart for San Jose. En route we have lunch at a pleasant restaurant overlooking the Corobici River and have a last shopping opportunity. We conclude our adventure with a farewell dinner as we bid our hosts and newfound friends an "hasta luego". It's then back to the airport on the final day for flights home.
